曲面上の曲線のトポロジーに関する代数的構造として、Goldman-Turaevリー双代数がある。最近の研究によってこのリー双代数の形式性と呼ばれる性質が明らかになり、曲面の写像類群の研究に用いられている。また、Goldman-Turaevリー双代数の形式性はLie理論に由来する柏原-Vergne理論と密接に関わっている。
本研究では、Goldman-Turaevリー双代数の形式性を出発点として、曲面上の曲線のトポロジーと代数構造の研究を多面的に展開する。 -
Various evolutions of Teichmuller theory

大鹿はPapadopoulos，Yi Huangと共同で，Thurstonの非対称距離をもつTeichmuller空間について，Roydenの定理と類似した無限小剛性が成り立つことを証明した．その系として，Walshによって示されたThurston距離の剛性とその一般化である局所剛性定理の全く異なる証明を得ることができた．また大鹿，宮地，PapdopoulosはトーラスのTiehchmuller空間を上半平面と同一視したときのThurston非対称擬距離を分析し，その接空間の単位円の形状を決定した．またTeichmuller空間を単位面積の構造ととらえたときと，上半平面ととらえたときの距離の連続変形の公式をBusemann距離を用いて与えた．
河澄はVespa との共同研究により、自由群の自己同型群の双変ねじれ係数安定コホモロジー群に PROP 構造を導入し，かつて河澄が構成したコホモロジー類の系列との関係を明らかにした．また河澄，久野，Vespaはゴールドマン・リー代数を用いたJohnson準同型の研究について共同研究を行った．山田はPapadopoulosと共同で，Busemanによって定義された距離関数のカテゴリーである時間的幾何学(Timelike Geometry)について研究を進めた．Finsler距離空間の新たな具体例として、興味深いモデルを論文Timelike Hilbert and Funk geometriesとして発表した．
これらの研究はいずれもStrasbourg大学IRMAのセミナーで発表された後，論文として執筆が進められており，また一部はすでに出版の段階に至っている．
この計画はStrasbourg大学現地での共同研究をテーマとするもので，本年度はStrasbourg大学に5人が出張することができた．Strasbourg大学では相手方の代表であるPapadopoulos氏の他，Vespa氏が共同研究に参加することにより，研究を順調に遂行することができた．特に現時点で大鹿，宮地，Papadopoulosの共同研究と，山田, Papadopoulosの共同研究はすでに論文として執筆が行われ，arXivに乗せた上，雑誌に投稿することろまで進んでいる．3月後半からフランスにおけるコロナ感染拡大の為，直接研究室での共同研究が不可能になったが，大鹿は3月末まで現地に残り，メール，オンライン会議，電話等で共同研究を進めたことがこの成果に結びついた．
今後もStrasboourg大学での共同研究を続けて行くが，新たに以下のような計画をしている．
大鹿，宮地はPapdopoulosと共同でThurton非対称距離の高次元Teichmuller空間への拡張を考える．特に高次元のトーラスの場合を今回解決し2次元の場合との比較で研究を進めていく．また大鹿とPapadopoulosは共同編集でSpringerから"In the traditon of Thurston"という題名での論文集のシリーズを企画しTeichmuller空間関連の最新の成果を発表する媒体としていく．
河澄，久野はVespaと続けているJohnson準同型の研究をPowellとも共同することにより進めていく．山田はPapadopoulosとTimelike幾何の共同研究を継続する．さらに今後は北山が3次元多様体の基本群の表現空間の研究の部分での共同研究に加わる予定である．
今年の前半はコロナ感染拡大に伴いフランスへの入国が難しくなったため，共同研究の多くを年度後半に予定している． -
写像類群のジョンソン準同型をめぐる研究：曲面上の1次元的対象を用いたアプローチ

本研究の一つのテーマは、曲面上の閉曲線に対する、一般デーンツイストと呼ばれる代数的構成の研究である。今年度は、一般デーンツイストに関する概説論文をG. Massuyeau氏(ブルゴーニュ大学)と辻俊輔氏(京都大学)との協力により執筆した。一般デーンツイストの動機、基本的な構成と結果の説明に加え、昨年度Massuyeau氏との研究協力によって得られた３次元トポロジーに関連する結果の概説、辻氏が導入した量子トポロジーの枠組みでの様々な変種についての理論の解説を行った。論文はプレプリント(arXiv:1909.09496)にまとめ、投稿中である。
本研究のもう一つのテーマは、３価ファットグラフスパインの数値的不変量の研究を発展させることである。今年度は、ファットグラフ複体の上のペナーのコサイクルに関する二次不変量の研究を行った。具体的には、二次不変量の明示公式を得ることができた。また、副産物として、３価ファットグラフスパインを用いた、曲面のシンプレクティック形式の組み合わせ的表示公式を得た。結果をまとめた論文を執筆中である。(研究代表者の指導する大学院生である竹澤花恵氏(津田塾大学)との研究協力を行った。)
その他、曲面の写像類群に関する研究として次の研究を実施した。
1) 昨年度A. Alekseev氏(ジュネーブ大学)、河澄響矢氏(東京大学)、F. Neaf氏(MIT)との研究協力により得たゴールドマン・テュラエフ・リー双代数の形式性に関する結果をまとめた論文の改訂を行い、主結果の改良を行った。
2) ジョンソン準同型の全射性の障害に関する研究。(榎本直也氏(電気通信大学)、佐藤隆夫氏(東京理科大学)との研究協力により実施)
一般デーンツイストの研究については、Massuyeau氏との研究協力に辻氏が加わり、現時点での理解を見通しよく概説論文にまとめることができた。次の課題も見えてきたところであり、折り返し地点としては妥当な進捗状況であると考えている。
また、大学院生の竹澤氏の頑張りによってペナーのコサイクルに関する二次不変量に関する結果が得られたことは喜ばしい。
今年度は二つのテーマについて進展があった。一方、ジョンソン準同型や斜交展開についての研究をあまり進めることができなかったので、次年度以降はA. Alekseev氏(ジュネーブ大学)、河澄響矢氏(東京大学)、F. Neaf氏(MIT)との研究協力を推し進めて成果を出したい。
