本研究は公共史Public Historyの実践である。ヨーロッパにおける共通歴史教科書、歴史映画、歴史博物館の調査を通して、公共史が歴史認識問題解決にも資するという分析結果に力を得て、東アジアでの実践、とりわけ共通歴史博物館の設立を提案する。具体的には、日本、韓国、中国そして台湾の共通歴史博物館を想定した展示内容の提案、実験展示の実施、見学者の反応分析を行う。そして「国境を越える歴史博物館」設立に向けたロードマップを作成する。

本研究は、ハプスブルク帝国の崩壊前後に貫通する統治形態と国民社会形成の動態を明らかにしながら、帝国後の継承諸国と諸国民社会の関係、国際連盟体制と国際関係の再編、そして難民・無国籍者の問題の検討を通して、「国民主権」と民主主義体制の実現と謳われた帝国後の中・東欧地域の国家秩序にいかに次の破局が内包されたのか明らかにするものである。中・東欧では国家秩序の破砕を経て、理想主義的な「国民国家」秩序の実験が行われたが、その後、第二次世界大戦期・戦後に終末論的な暴力行使の焦点となった。それゆえに第一次世界大戦後の統治秩序・国際関係の再編にどのような問題があったのか、長期的に解明することは不可欠である。

① 帝国近代化における辺境/境界地域の経験と帝国統治への還流：本研究は、辺境/境界地域の経験が帝国統治の近代化全体に還流するという方向性に焦点をあて、端的な経験が帝国統治に一般化される流れを解明する。
② 帝国と諸国民の社会との相互規定性の解明：近年の研究は、帝国統治と国民社会形成の相互規定性が明らかにしてきた。本研究は、国民化する帝国のなかで、国民社会形成の経験が相互に参照されながら、帝国社会全体に還流する過程を検討する。
③ 帝国的構成の連続性の解明：中・東欧の継承諸国を、帝国的な中心・辺境の構成を積極的に転形させながら受け継ぎ、再生
産する政体（小さな帝国）と考え、帝国からの連続性を析出する。 -

This study has examined the forefront of the ongoing attempt to make public the achievements of historical research in Europe from the perspective of public history. Specifically, we have chosen the three media as the objects of research (i.e., books, movies, and museums), and we have continued dialogues with those involved in European history books, historical films, and history museums, and also continued communication with related researchers, in countries such as Germany, France, and Poland. The results of field visits and analyses of historical books and historical films were published as a research book in 2018, and are also presented at domestic as well as overseas academic conferences and meetings. As future prospects based on our examination of the experiences in Europe, we are trying to seek a solution to the problems regarding the possibility of the East Asian Common History Museum concept.
