ソリトン方程式の中で最も重要な方程式であるKP方程式の解について研究する。KP方程式の様々な解が代数曲線から構成される。本研究では種数1以上の特異代数曲線に対応するKP方程式の解を具体的かつ系統的に求める。これは従来技術的困難のため放置されていた問題であるが、rogue waveなどの非線形波動の新しい研究動向の観点、および数学内部におけるテータ関数論の観点から重要かつ興味深い問題と考えられる。ここではKP方程式の佐藤理論を用いてこの問題を攻略する。さらに佐藤理論の観点から、位相的場の理論の相関関数の性質の解明も目指す。
今年度は(1) 超楕円曲線の二つの分岐点をピンチする退化(2) (3,3m+1)曲線の三つの分岐点をピンチする退化、に伴うKP階層の解（タウ関数）の退化について、佐藤グラスマンを用いて研究した。結果は以下の通りである。

(1)、(2)共に各種数の非特異代数曲線に佐藤グラスマンを用いて標準的な解を定義した。標準的な解については、報告者の以前の研究により、高種数シグマ関数を用いた明示的な解の表示式がある。今回、この明示的表示を用いるのではなく、標準解の退化を標準解を用いて表した。その結果、標準解の退化は、種数の低い代数曲線の標準解を用いて非常にきれいに表示されることが分かった。より具体的には次の通りである。(1)の場合は、標準解の退化は、ソリトン解を記述するときに現れる指数関数と標準解の変数をシフトしたものの積の1次結合として表され、(2)の場合は、標準解の退化は、(1)と同様の1次結合を代数曲線のパラメータで微分したものとして表される。さらに、(1)の場合、得られた1次結合は、標準解に頂点作用素を作用させて得られることが分かった。これらの研究の意義、重要性は次の通り。

(i) 指数関数と標準解の組み合わせで得られる解は、周期解や準周期解で表される波の中にソリトンが発生している様子を表していると考えられ、rogue waveなどと関係して興味があるものと考えられる。
(ii) 頂点作用素はKP階層の解を解に移す作用素として知られている。今回得られた結果から、正種数の超楕円曲線解に頂点作用素を作用させると、2重点と呼ばれる特異点を持った代数曲線に対応する解が得られることが分かる。種数正の曲線について、頂点作用素の幾何学的作用を検証したのは初めてではないかと思われ、その意味で重要な結果と考える。
代数曲線の退化に伴うKP階層の解の退化を調べることが研究目標の一つの柱であるが、超楕円曲線と(3,3m+1)曲線の退化について当初の目論見通り明示的な退化公式が得られ、さらに当初予期していなかった頂点作用素との関係についての結果も得られたので、この目的については研究は順調に進展していると判断する。KP階層の一般解を近似する代数曲線列の構成がもう一つの研究目的であるが、こちらはまだ試行錯誤の段階で研究が進展したとは判断できない。総合的には、研究はおおむね順調に進んでいると判断している。
代数曲線の退化に伴うKP階層の解の退化については、当初のアイディアがうまく機能しているので、一般の(n,s)曲線の場合について研究を推進する。その際、多変数シグマ関数の微分の零値についてより詳しい性質を知る必要があるので、それも同時に研究する。一般解を近似する代数曲線の構成については、まずKdV階層の場合のDubrovinの結果を佐藤グラスマンを用いて再構成することを目標に研究を進める。 -
